Using the USSD code:

Dial USSD code *165*65# from your MTN sim card to open an SCD account and apply for MTN shares.

Using the MyMTN app,

Download the MyMTN app from the play store, open an SCD account, and apply for MTN shares using the app.

Using USE-Portal,

Using Third-Party Parties (broker)

Contact your licensed stockbroker to obtain MTN shares via paper application forms. This is an easy step for people already in stock, but it is tiresome for beginners.

Below is a list of a few Major Brockers in the country;

  1. UAP OLD MUTUAL FINANCIAL SERVICES (U) LTD
  2. BARODA CAPITAL MARKETS (U) LTD

Finally, MTN says that if the number of applications exceeds the number of shares available, Ugandan individual investors will be considered first. Individuals from Uganda will receive guaranteed shares worth up to UGX 5 million in addition to the full number of bonus shares to which it entitled them. If an m-IPO application is not successful or if a portion of the offering is sold, all payments will be refunded in full via the same channel.
